Advanced Open Water is not about becoming an expert in two days. It is a structured way to gain depth, navigation and specialty experience with an instructor—and choose dives that fit what you want to improve.
The learning route changes. The certification does not.
All three options lead to PADI Advanced Open Water certification. The difference is the learning material and whether a personal dive computer is included.
Certification is enough to start. Readiness still matters.
You can start after Open Water, but your course will be more useful when the dives match your actual comfort and recent experience.

Review the relevant knowledge, discuss personal goals and complete the first planned dives with focused coaching and debriefs.
Complete the five dives plus a fun dive
Finish the required and elective dives, then use the additional dive to consolidate experience without another training objective.
A 30-metre certification is permission—not an instruction.
The course expands the standard adult depth limit to 30 metres. That does not mean every 30-metre dive is suitable immediately. Conditions, recent experience, gas use, comfort and the dive plan still determine the sensible limit for a particular day.

Useful answers before you choose.
Do I need a minimum number of logged dives?
PADI allows Open Water divers to enter the course without a large experience requirement. Your recent experience still matters when choosing the most useful dives and pace.
Can the course include the HTMS Chang?
Possibly, when the dive objective, depth, conditions and your experience make it appropriate. A requested wreck cannot be guaranteed as a particular training site.
Can I choose all five dives?
No. Deep and Underwater Navigation are required. The other three are selected with the instructor according to your goals and what can be delivered safely during the course dates.
Will I automatically be comfortable at 30 metres?
No certification creates instant comfort. The Deep Adventure Dive introduces the additional planning and effects; experience should still build progressively.
What if I have not dived for a long time?
Send the date of your last dives and how confident you feel. A tune-up or ordinary reef dives before the course may be a better sequence.

The course is taught by a qualified instructor at the selected dive operator. I answer your questions personally and help check the course format and dates before availability is confirmed.
